Winter 2009 has been fantastic, some brilliant craft fairs, some lovely commissions and some brand new galleries stocking my work. 568 Gallery on Woodborough Road in Nottingham, Borough Museum and Art Gallery in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Rugby Museum and Art Gallery.
Lots of exciting things are already lined up for 2010, Southwell Minster Craft Fair in May, Lady Bay Art Week and Sherwood Art Week in June, and of course the regular bi-monthly craft fair in West Bridgford throughout the year. Plus, new designs, new collections, and lots more.

Things are starting to get busy for Christmas here at APD, with lots of new craft fairs coming up and lots of new jewellery being made. The new designs will make it onto the website eventually but at the moment I’m spending all my time at the work bench creating new ranges and adding to all the old favourites.
Things are so busy that the Open Studio evening which was planned for the 6th November is for the moment postponed. But don’t panic! You can find me through out the festive season at the following events:
7th November: Southwell Minster Winter Craft fair, Southwell, Notts
14th November: Christmas Crafts, The Place, Melrose Street, Sherwood
20th & 21st November: West Bridgford Croquet Lawn, Nottingham
26th November : Carrington Primary School (3.30pm-6pm)
27th November: Kimberley Christmas Lights, Newdigate Street, Kimberley
28th & 29th November: Christmas Arts Market, The Harley Gallery, Worksop
5th & 6th December: Rufford Aurora Christmas Market, Rufford Park
11th December: Christmas Crafts, The Robin Hood, Mansfield Road, Sherwood
12th & 13th December: Sawley Marina Christmas Market
I’m now taking commissions for Christmas and will be doing so until the end of November so put your request in now for that perfect gift to arrive before the big day. The absolute last date for commissions will be the 5th of December.

OPEN STUDIO…
First of all, a big Thank You to everyone who came along to the Alys Power Design Open Studio on the 12th July. It was a great afternoon and so much fun I am already planning the next one. It will be an evening of festivity and Christmas shopping on Friday, 6th November. More details will be available soon, see the Open Studio page of the website for more.

New Designs…
Brand new designs will be coming online very soon. I’ve been busy busy busy making them and now just need to upload some photos and details. I’ve added new pieces to some of my favourite collections including Recycled Pendants, Recycled Brooches, Silver Sentiments, and Family Album and also created some brand new ranges including Teaspoon Pendants and Vintage Ruler Necklaces. The new designs are on sale now – direct from the studio or at all the craft fairs and markets I’ll be at through the summer.

LADY BAY OPEN GARDENS JUNE 20TH &21ST
Alys Power Designs jewellery will be on sale at 143 Trent Boulevard during the Lady Bay Open Gardens weekend.

“15 wonderfully different local Gardens will be opened to the public, to explore, relax and enjoy. The trail includes gardens (and gardeners) of all shapes and sizes, from family gardens to woodland hide aways, formal gardens to veg patches and green roofs. Its also a great opportunity to meet fellow gardeners who are keen to share their knowledge and enthusiastic efforts – from keen horticulturists & plant addicts to growers of juicy vegetables to perennial potterers.”
The gardens are open 2pm – 6pm and entry to see 15 local and beautiful gardens is only £1.50. Entry to the jewellery sale alone is free but it would be a shame to miss all the other gardens on the trail.

New for August 2008 - Time Flies: A collection of pendants and brooches using vintage watches. Each one is embellished with glass beads, swarovski crystal and their own pair of hand decorated, recycled aluminium wings.

Welcome to Alys Power Jewellery.
There are brand new collections online for you to view and purchase - Nature Study is a collection of garden themed pendants, brooches and earring featuring leaves, twigs, birds and branches made from sterling silver, reclaimed brass and copper.
Or for something a little more quirky, Walter the Hare pendants and brooches follow the adventure of a 3″ tall hare hand cut from recycled copper water pipes. Cute but curious – Walter is good intentioned but often unlucky.
